A long time ago, I took a look at the AMD SATA driver setup information file, and there are references to AHCI in the driver file. Based on the R10 service manual schematic, I was certain the board layout, PCI slots present, and other clues, that we do have in R10 is based on B550 chipset. The MS SATA CONTROLLER is updated with each new version of Windows 10 so disregard the Driver Date of. AMD uses Windows 10 native SATA driver instead.

If it didn't, go to the Standard SATA AHCI Controller to 'Properties' and click on Update Driver. Download the AMD Chipset for your CPU here: Chipset Run it and see if it installed the AMD SATA Controller driver in Device Manager under 'IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller'. I am also on the July 2020 Aurora BIOS ver 1.06 So far I've got the amd smbus and amd sata controller drivers installed manually but not sure what else should be there for a 990fx crosshair v z Last edited by demoncamber 03-18-2017 at 05:49 PM. I think I know my own system, and there are no ports beyond the ones on the motherboard. 6 with an Intel controller, and 2 with a Marvell controller which is for data drives only.

Luckily, I was able to change it from RAID On to AHCI. I have an old ASUS P9 motherboard (which I may need to replace soon.) The ASUS manual lists 8 SATA ports.
